AVRO – Rent a Car

1. General Information

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the website cars.destinacion.al and all rental services provided by AVRO – Rent a Car (“AVRO”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By accessing the website, submitting a booking request, or renting a vehicle from AVRO, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our services.

2. Eligibility to Rent

To rent a vehicle from AVRO, the renter must:

  • Be at least 21 years old (minimum age may vary depending on vehicle category)
  • Hold a valid driving license for a minimum of 2 years
  • Present a valid ID or passport
  • Provide a valid payment method accepted by AVRO

AVRO reserves the right to refuse service at its sole discretion.

3. Booking and Reservations

  • All bookings are subject to vehicle availability.
  • A booking request is considered confirmed only after written confirmation (email or WhatsApp).
  • AVRO reserves the right to cancel or modify a reservation in case of force majeure, technical issues, or incorrect information provided by the client.

4. Rental Period and Vehicle Use

  • The rental period starts and ends at the agreed date and time stated in the rental agreement.
  • Late returns may be charged as an additional rental day.
  • Vehicles must be used only for lawful purposes and in accordance with Albanian law.
  • The vehicle must not be used:
    • For racing, towing, or off-road driving (unless explicitly agreed)
    • Under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or illegal substances
    • By any unauthorized driver

Only drivers registered in the rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle.

5. Prices, Payments, and Deposits

  • All prices are stated in EUR, unless otherwise specified.
  • Rental prices may include or exclude VAT depending on the agreement.
  • A security deposit may be required before vehicle handover.
  • AVRO reserves the right to pre-authorize or charge the deposit to cover potential damages, fines, or additional costs.

Accepted payment methods are communicated during booking.

6. Insurance Options

AVRO offers two insurance options:

6.1 Basic Insurance (Mandatory)

Includes third-party liability coverage as required by Albanian law.
The renter remains financially responsible for damages to the rented vehicle.

6.2 Full Insurance (Optional)

Reduces or eliminates the renter’s financial liability in case of damage, subject to contract terms.

Insurance does not cover:

  • Driving under the influence
  • Gross negligence
  • Unauthorized use
  • Loss of keys, documents, or personal belongings

7. Vehicle Condition and Responsibilities

  • The vehicle is delivered clean and in good technical condition.
  • The renter must inspect the vehicle at pickup and report any existing damage.
  • The renter is responsible for returning the vehicle in the same condition, excluding normal wear and tear.
  • Any damage, accident, or malfunction must be reported immediately to AVRO.

8. Accidents, Fines, and Violations

  • In case of an accident, the renter must inform AVRO and local authorities immediately.
  • Traffic fines, parking tickets, tolls, and violations incurred during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the renter.
  • Administrative fees may apply for handling fines or legal notices.

9. Fuel Policy

  • Vehicles are delivered with a specified fuel level and must be returned with the same level.
  • Missing fuel will be charged according to AVRO’s price list.

10. Cancellations and No-Shows

  • Cancellation terms are communicated at the time of booking.
  • No-shows or late cancellations may result in partial or full rental charge.
  • AVRO reserves the right to retain deposits according to cancellation policy.

11. Limitation of Liability

AVRO shall not be liable for:

  • Loss or damage of personal belongings
  • Delays caused by force majeure
  • Indirect or consequential damages

AVRO’s maximum liability is limited to the rental amount paid by the customer.

12. Data Protection and Privacy

Personal data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Data is used solely for booking, rental, legal compliance, and customer communication.

13. Website Use

  • All website content is the property of AVRO or its licensors.
  • Unauthorized reproduction, modification, or misuse is prohibited.
  • AVRO does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free website operation.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Albania.
Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively by the competent courts of Albania.

15. Amendments

AVRO reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time.
Updated versions will be published on cars.destinacion.al and become effective immediately.
